THE HINDU VIEW OF SEX & LGBT

July 7th, 2009 | 36 Comments | Posted in Great Hindu

khajuraho1

Such is the depths to which the leftists have plummetted that they are celebrating the so-called Gay liberation movement as if  they have conquered the Everest.

Recently,  the New Delhi High Court had ruled that consensual anal sex was not a punishable offence. The Court had only repealed an obsolete law. The Leftists — obsessed as they are with minority rights — are now celebrating this act as they believe that the sexual minorities are now at par with sexual majority (read the heterosexuals).  I  wonder if we can have reservation for homosexuals in Government jobs.  I wonder if Mamata Banerjee will extend railway concessions to sexual minorities aka LGBT (Lesbians, Gays, Bisexual and Transsexuals). As for me, I am not entitled to this privilege because I am a heterosapien (I am even afraid to call myself a homosapien these days).

The Hindu view of sex vis-a-vis LGBT:

An;yway, this gives me the opportunity to spell out the Hindu view of sex vis-a-vis LGBT.

Per se, Hindus view sex as highly personal. It differs from  person to person.  For  instance, Hindus worship all types of God. Some are staunch bachelors like Hanuman and Ayyappa. Some are monogamous like Ram.  Some others are like polygamous playboys like Krishna and Indra. Maybe, the Hindu Gods had a premonition of relativity theory much before Einstein popularised it.

Anyway, sex is personal for Hindus. If you decide to have sex with one or many or none, it is your personal affair. No interference. It is Vyakti Dharma (individual liberty).   That is why it is better to restrict sex to bed room — no open sex atleast not in the presence of children.

To enjoy sex, there  is a do-it-yourself manual in the form of Kama Sutra and even Vigyan Bhairava Tantra.  Tantra also combines divine meditation with sex. Or rather tantra suggests sublimation of lust  into love.  There are techniques for it. For those who are interested in this rare mix  of lust and love, tantric sex opens the route.  For more  info, read Kama Sutra and Vigyan Bhairava Tantra. Both tantra and kamasutra have practical techniques for such an end — puritans may well abstain  from such practices.

The Sanskrit word “Kama” stands  not just for sex.  It also means material desires at large. Sex is just a part  of our desires which needs to be transcended — that is a largely accepted Hindu view.  Sublimation of sex makes Nara (man) Narayana (divine).

The Hindu view of homosexuality:  Though Hindus have divergent views on this  issue, it must be said that the Hindu society has a rather disparaging view of homosexuality.  The proponents of ISKCON say that homosexuals have low energy levels which have declined below the Muladhara chakra. They say that homosexuality is the heights of human decline and homosexuals are  bound to take birth as animals in their next lives.

Even Osho and other Sanyasis aver that homosexuality is the heights of  perversion and makes spirituality that much more difficult.

However, present Gurus like Sri Sri have welcomed homosexuals into their  fold as they seem to be hooked by the modern idea that homosexuality is in the genes.  Whether in the genes or not, Hindus detest homosexuals.  That is a harsh fact. If not all, I do.  Hindus largely view homosexuals as a case of genetic defect.

Opposite  poles attract.  And it is beautiful if they do.  If God created Adam and Steve, it  is certainly not my problem.  I believe Gays are a manufacturing defect of the Creator.

Postscript: The world’s first homosexual activities might well be between Shiva and Vishnu’s mohini roopa (nymph form).   However, I  would say that it is not the case because Vishnu had a female body at the time.  Anyway, for  gays world over, Shiva  is the presiding deity.  So gays better make a beeline to Kailas to get their genetic defect addressed.

I spend my hours searching the internet for spiritual views and I find hate. To love everyone is the goal of this life and especially love those you do not understand or consider enemies. Love conquers all, not beliefs. You don’t know me and my relationship to the gods and goddesses of the universe yet you judge me. Ganesh opens doors for me. Buddha opens my heart. I have preferred the same sex since I was young. I am NOT a defect of God. You are saying God makes mistakes??? The only mistake in this universe is by small minded men and women of all races and religions, that choose to bomb each other over their religions and kill each other over their beliefs. This hatred is a terrible mistake, but not a mistake of God. It is a mistake of humans for not seeing past the material world and into the LIGHT. It’s all an illusion. Love is all that is substantial. See the love. Make the bridge of love to ALL…please do not insult me. I may be feeding you one day when you come with your past karma of hatred asking for a pooja or a bread crumb, or bowl of rice. I will feed you. Spread love and joy …. it is inside you. LOOK deeper!!! Look past your small mind and see with your BIG mind and let light guide you on…

Perry, No Hindu will condemn you to Hell like Christists and Islamists do for being what you are.  Your thoughts are welcome.

    Deepak Kamat Says:

    @ Perry,

I never condemned homosexuals or lesbians.  But I am afraid to say that it is unnatural.  Anyway, even defects are a creation of God.  I have no issues if homosexuals enjoy in private without becoming a pubic nuisance.

    Sex in so called Hinduism is restricted only to beget children, its a pious activity when properly to beget a god concious children. Its not personal affair and so on as return in the above article. Only animals will have unrestricted sex not human beings, even animal will beget children when involve in sex, they dont use any contraceptives.The above article is a very cheap article written by person who doesnt have any idea of sex in Vedic life. He is just posting his veiws rather than referring to authoritative  texts.{Thats why I said the so called hindus are responsible for the downfall of their religion}

    Deepak Kamat Says:

    @ Fariq,

Wrong again.  There is nothing mandatory in Hinduism.  There are certain sects which have such a peculiar belief.  Go read Kamasutra and liberate yourself from that belief.  Also read Vigyan Bhairava Tantra and get back to me.

ya you can’t judge another. you aren’t understanding things properly. I am also transsexual AND very spritual. It is true that obsessions for fullfilling physical desires will trouble intelllectual progress, BUT everyone has a physical nature. If you get caught up in lusts and are controlled by emotions of survival then you can’t persue larger interests. However at the same time, if your basic needs are not being satisfied as a human being that will hinder your progress as well. Please understand that I can spend 10 mintues of my day using the bathroom to handle my natural callings and spending the other 23 hours of my Day working for Justice and Peace of the world. The intent is not to forever supress natural desires but to help you to gradually get control of them. This is on an individual basis and on a historical cultural social basis.  Nature will always call and Nature is our friend not our enemy. Please get this figured out. Please use the mind God gave you to carefully understand yourself and your scriptures.

Beyond that whatever you use your newfound superiour control of YOURSELF is totally up to you as long as you don’t abuse the freedom. It’s 2010 almost. Go to school, get hobby, live out a passion, vote, be good to your friends and family, and be healthy. I hope this makes sense.

    1. The Krishna universe is complictated. And big. And diverse. But if you are someone who is ’searching’ for a ’seer’ there is definately someone who will offer you an image that they themselve will fancy above all others. I know I fancy ideas sometimes.

    2. Vishnu is recorded to have originally created homosexuals. Not as an original ’sin’, as word doesn’t exist in Dharma. That’s not surprising being that it’s natural.

    3. Moneys throw poop at eachother.

    4. Humans also throw poop at eachother but here in the united states we treat both hands equally with soap and water so that we can eat with them liberally.

    5. Mahadeva Guru Namo

  14. 14
    Chloe Says:

Speaking of Krishna, I saw a video of Prabhupad, the guy who started ISKCON by bringing Gaudiya Vaishnavas to the United States (fascinating story by the way. I’ve been really interested in his time spent in Columbus Ohio)   Anyway in the vid he advises a homosexual to find a partner to settle down with. I wonder how many people have seen it. Surprised me. Dialogue with him always does but then again doesn’t.

I was gonna say something else……I forget.

  15. 15
    Chloe Says:

Oh ya I remember, In India there is a homoxexual group that worships a form of Krishna that was incarnated as a woman. True story. And the group, they get together once a year and celebrate in a big festival with multi colored condoms.

    Chloe Says:

I realize that these posts are looking a bit reduntant and possibly pretentious. But For one thing I haven’t gotten tired of the loads and loads of heavy anti-sex or anti-sexuality in religion on top of just about everywhere else. And I don’t post on the issue much but I come across it an awfully alot. And I can understand a position of Brahmachari (spell?) within strict codes of celibacy in times of your life where total devotion to mental focus is vital, like overcoming addiction or struggling through a difficult puberty, or teaching Lucy to speak. Look the point is that I figure….a couple of things actually. One is that if a person is searching for some really simple answers to some basic questions they should get dirrect answers. I mean, why else would they be going around asking such a question. What religion in all of history in it’s entirety ever promoted sex for sex sake? Because what would be the point? Other than marginal border ’perversion’ practices in Satanism and Tantra which are less a religion in the truest purpose of the word. The article was written for it’s own sake but people search catagorically for different ideas on things like sex and religion freely these days, mostly to make arguments in some sort of case.  I can help one person who is playing tug of war with a mind that is all tangled up in conflicts that are unable to get to the source because of the intense preasure of opposing divided sides, which are actually tactfully used in psychological warfare, then I have succeeded in leading people to there own birthright divinity and humane right to express it. Therefore Sirs, I don’t really care what this looks like to you.

  17. 17
    Deepak Kamat Says:

    Mr. Kramer,

you are free to have your own preferences.  that’s what Hinduism is about.  Sex is in the domain of Vyakti dharma.

Howver, washing dirty linen in public the way leftists do leaves a bad taste in mouth.

  18. 18
    Chloe Says:

Miss Chloe. Oh you mean the way poor dalits do laundry in public utitlity squares?

  19. 19
    Deepak Kamat Says:

    ^^^^
the word Dalit is a misnomer.  It has been used to divide Hindu society.  Read my earlier posts.

  20. 20
    Miss Chloe Kramer Says:

So Vyakti Dharma goes on the same miserable path forever without reconciled end? God that is so typical around here. Same endless cycles.

Point is  sex is different. It’s time to disarm the weapon.

Deepak Kamat, I know, these things just happen. Nobody knows anything. They pull that crap here in America too with incentives. It pisses me off.

  21. 21
    Chloe Says:

Deepak Kamat, I’m confused I guess. Are you saying that Dalits are not a conspiracy but a fact of life and are used in classification for political leverage? Everything would be Unified in a purpose if it just continued to happen with question? Because if that’s what you said then I understand properly and don’t take back anything I said. That’s what I mean. India has, however inadvertantly, created monsters, including itself.

  22. 22
    Chloe Says:

“That’s not a Dalit. That’s just a sickly person that nobody wants to touch for I will catch the illness and reak of negativity and then I’ll myself become ill and everyone will banish me from my provilaged place and everything will be out of order and my position will be questioned and Dear God the children will become unruling. For heavens sake no, let them starve.”

    > He is just posting his veiws rather than referring to authoritative  texts

Like KORAN or BIBLE you mean?

  27. 27
    Chloe Kramer Says:

    exactly.

  28. 28
    Deepak Kamat Says:

Etymologically, the word Dalit means “Broken Ones”.

But now some activists with vested interests (ostensibly backed by the Church) is putting that label on lower caste Hindus.  They cry oppression just as Blacks in US cry racism at the drop of a hat.
These so-called Dalits are then pushed into conversion with the plea that they are discirminated in Hindu society.
    That is not the case.
Hindu society was impoverished during Islamic-Christian-Colonial times.  Before that caste was by profession and not by birth.
Regarding Dalits, there are high caste Brahmins who are also Dalits (broken ones).
  29. 29
    Chloe Says:

Yea, broken, misbehaved, once born, unfortunate, troubled. Now there’s an entire evolved class of people in collective society that are ‘broken’ and nobody knows why they are hurled into this collective complex but God has a plan.

  30. 30
    Chloe Says:

What that is is Buisiness. Big business. That’s what I mean, everyone has a place in Gods great plan. Bussiness here  has recently been creating low class not based on birth race but by so called Varna, or an interpretation of it, business interpretation. Give black people and everyone a minimal amount of money to spend and sell to them occordingly, it makes the world go round. What we don’t have is money repairing the damage from the mass produced criminals. We have more and more prisons and sick people who are denied health care.
