U G Krishnamurthy is Guru of depression while Sri Sri is Guru of Joy
I am an inveterate Guru shopper — who has already been initiated by 20 Gurus — although I don’t follow any of them. I am sold on Zen philosophy — the Osho, JK & Nisargadatt Advaita brand. Nithy of the infamous videotape fame also initiated me recently (just three months ago).
Among the Gurus that I have read and met, I found that Sri Sri is indeed the Guru of joy. I found Amma warm while the most depressing Guru that I have ever met is U G Krishnamurthy.
Just read U G Krishnamurthy with an open mind and you will get head-ache. First I thought it was co-incidence. Then I went through the list of depression cases among my friend. And lo, behold, they were all reading UGK.
UGK’s main disciple Mahesh Bhatt is already nuts. So are the others. However, I still read UGK — notwithstanding the headaches that he gives me. I feel it is like delivery pain, undesirable but needed all the same.
As for Sri Sri, I have done two of his courses. If you do Sri Sri’s kriya, you become light, start singing and dancing. Despite the joy, I really didn’t want to continue with Sri Sri because I felt that too much joy was also not good.
A little bit masala should be left. If everything is goody-goody, life will be boring. So on and off, I keep experimenting.
But my fav is neither UGK or Sri Sri, it is plain body-building and karate. The last two gives me a kick that nothing can… and of course a bottle of beer. Thanks for Osho… or else I would have been a teetotaller.

Cool that we have so many Gurus, we can keep hopping or stop it whatever we like. But see what dirty laundry is getting exposed in Pope’s land. Poor Christians taken for a ride!

What a stupid article. It does not even work as an opinion piece. Is this what is being passed of as writing nowadays? At least state the reasons why you think UG is the guru of depression.

Hi, i know how its to have a problem like this. I’ve struggling from this since a few months with the normal ups and downs so i really know its not fun when you have a problem like this.
