In my opinion, Sri Sri tops the list for he made a difference to the way the world perceives Hinduism.

This is what Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said about Sri Sri, ”There are big powers which have big might, but they are not able to unite the hearts and minds of people. This work can be done only by a spiritual leader.”

1. Sri Sri Ravishankar: He serves as a living example for dedication to humanitarian causes. Sri Sri is only to be seen to be believed. I liked his vision spelled out in his official website : “My Vision is a Violence-free, stress-free world“. Also his words bring great insight: ”Technology without spirituality is destructive. Spirituality is the technology of consciousness, and the whole world is the play and display of consciousness. ” Read the complete discourse here. http://www.srisri.org/teachings.html. Besides, he also applied the healing balm on caste equations by demanding an immediate ban on entry-restrictions to Dalit. According to Sri Sri, there should be only three classes — Brahmin (the learned), Kshatriya (Administrators) and Vaishyas (the business class). The last class (Shudras) should be eliiminated through technology as it has happened in the west. Sri Sri has promoted Patanjali Yoga Sutras and other Hindu scriptures by presenting them in contemporary lights. No doubt, he is at the top of my list. Overall, Sri Sri is an amalgamation of modern thoughts with ancient wisdom. However, I do have differences with Sri Sri in some scores like his attempts at being politically correct. His dialogue with Zakir (Zoker) Naik was a disaster. His attempts at bridging Hindus and Muslims was an outright flop. His refusal to see Islam as a terror ideology surprised me although I feel he knows the Truth but is reluctant to admit it in public for reasons best known to him. The best thing about Sri Sri is the way he handles the anti-Hindu media with his mischeavous one-liners.

2. Sonal Shah: Frankly, I don’t know much about Sonal Shah. I have never met this young lady nor have I read much about her. But she has managed hi-profile jobs as the CSR chief of Google and was handpicked by the US Prez for overseeing the transition of Presidency. The anti-Hindu media made a lot of fuss about her selection. But then, this young lady must have deserved it considering her family links to Sangh Parivar — which is the favourite whipping boy of the anti-Hindu media.

3. Ratan Tata: Ratan is the head of a global conglomerate. Of course, there are the Ambanis who are greater than him considering their financial muscle. But the Tatas have a tradition of society orientedness long before CSR (Corporate Social Resonsibility) became an in-thing in biz-jargons. His composure during the Mumbai terror attacks and his ethical business practices in this Kali-age is really admirable. You might say that he is a Parsi. But he is a Hindu in my definition of a way of life where you follow your own faith without troubling others.

4. Narendra Modi: The poster boy of HIndutva is always there. Despite being a target of the virulent malicious propaganda, he has managed to win three elections and has silenced all his critics through his deft administration. Though the US has refused him visa, he remains a ray of hope for the Hindus who are fed up with anti-Hindu propaganda.

5. Baba Ramdev: There is only one Superman in India and he is Baba Ramdev. And there is only one Superwoman in India and she is Madame Pasta Ben. One is pro-Hindu and the other is anti-Hindu. Baba Ramdev leads from the front and assures us that the great Hindu way of life is not just alive but kicking.

6. Amrutananda Mayi: This hugging Saint does not know English or any other language. She knows only Malayalam. She also does not have a photogenic face or the usual charisma exuded by the celebrities. Despite this, she is at the top of the Guru Chart. She is a real mystery. I have seen her in action several times. If not for Amrutananda Mayi, the Commies in Kerala would have destroyed God’s own land. She is the only rape of hope for Communist Kerala. A pity, Bengal does not have one. As for the anti-Hindu media, it refuses to project her and raised a storm in the tea cup when some frustrated person tried to stab her and was caught.

7. Sadhwi Pragya: The media and the UPA-backed Maharashtra Government tried their best to project her as a Hindu terrorist. She was given the dope test in gross violation of the codes and yet the anti-Hindu media as well as human rightwallahs didn’t even raise a whimper. It seems as if their voice is heard only when defending terrorists’ rights. Sadhwi Pragya is a post-graduate in Political Science and is a fiery speaker when it comes to Hindutva. She is certain to come out unscathed in the case. Personally, I will support the Sadhvi even if she is convicted because I like many other HIndus are in favour of Reverse Terrorism especially when the inept UPA Government is not in favour of strigent laws like POTA when it comes to controlling Islamic terror.

8. Sadhvi Rithambara: Her voice was the power behind the Ayodhya historical corrective but it has now mellowed with age. But her commitment has not. Her attempts at rehabilitation destitute Hindu women is the stuff legends are made of. As usual, our negative media can never project a positive woman like her in a good light.

9. Anonymous Swayamsewaks: They are there in the background and most of them pass their life in anonymity and several in ignominy. But they are the real soldiers who kept aloft the flag of Hinduism high. They are like the common Bhils who never let Rana Pratap down even when odds were stacked against him.

10. The Resurgent Hindu intellectuals: Here I think I have to pat my own back. There are a lot of Hindu intellectuals today. There are giants like V S Naipaul and Arun Shourie. Then there are the anonymous pen pushers too. They have taken on the ubiqutous mainstream media and are all set to win the battle for just one simple reason — because TRUTH is on their side.
