When pseudosecularists create Hindu terrorist and Hindu terrorism

by Deepak Kamat ~ November 20th, 2008
Pragya Thakur
Where was the human rights brigade when the Sadhvi was tortured?
I am proud to belong to a religion which has taught the world both tolerance and universal acceptance. We believe not only in universal toleration, but we accept all religions as true. I am proud to belong to a nation which has sheltered the persecuted and the refugees of all religions and all nations of the earth. I am proud to tell you that we have gathered in our bosom the purest remnant of the Israelites, who came to Southern India and took refuge with us in the very year in which their holy temple was shattered to pieces by Roman tyranny. I am proud to belong to the religion which has sheltered and is still fostering the remnant of the grand Zoroastrian nation.

I will quote to you, brethren, a few lines from a hymn which I remember to have repeated from my earliest boyhood, which is every day repeated by millions of human beings: “As the different streams having their sources in different places all mingle their water in the sea, so, O Lord, the different paths which men take through different tendencies, various though they appear, crooked or straight, all lead to Thee.” - Swami Vivekananda

The arrest of a Sadhvi and two other Hindus in connection with the Malegaon blasts case makes a case for a very happy Diwali for the “secular brigade”. Hindu extremists, Hindu terrorist, Saffron terror are the new synonyms invented as every big media house makes it a point to keep up with the joneses; never mind that a Kashmiri terrorist always transforms into a militant while there is no place for “Muslim terrorist”, “Islamic fundamentalist”, “Green terror” in the “secular” vocabulary!

This is the most embarrassing revelation against the BJP, is Rajdeep Sardesai”s caustic remark! Sure, but not as embarrassing as the 20 year sentence which was recently given to a former Congress minister from Gujarat, Mohd. Surti who was indicted in the Surat blasts of 1993.
It is not that the ATS has any iron cast case against the Sadhvi. By her own admission, her was at most a peripheral involvement but no one knows about the boundary. A bike sold probably years before is her only connection with the blasts, as of now.

Why would an intelligent terrorist use her own bike to launch a bomb will require stiff reasoning before any court of law?

However, the arrest of the suspects should have answered the paranoid Muslim alarmists and minority terrorist right groups who have been howling incessantly against the police for picking up terror suspects belonging to minority community.

And here is the difference. Not one Hindu organization, not one Hindu leaning intellectual, not one Hindu sympathetic academician, not one Hindu religious leader has come forward in defense of the accused. Contrast with the supposedly secular Mushirul Hasan who makes it a case to actively fund cute students of the Jamia Milia Islamia because they both share a common religious identity, even when it surfaced that the student involved is not a bonafide student of the university and used a fake qualifying certificate to gain admission.

There is more. Not one Hindu group has officially claimed it to be a conspiracy against the majority community, more particularly Hindutva groups. Not one Hindu group has doubted the credentials of the police. Not one Hindu guru has exonerated the accused on her past conduct. Not one Hindu has created communal tension and indulged in rioting to protest the arrest. Not one Hindu citizen of India has obstructed the path of justice. Not one Hindu organization has offered to fund the Sadhvi”s defense. Not one Hindu says they feel threatened by the police actions. Not one Hindu organization has demanded a judicial probe!

Contrast with the arrest of SIMI leaders. Tehelka, the unofficial English language mouthpiece of the SIMI slandered the competency of the police. They pleaded that SIMI”s arguments for Islamicization of India were actually valid! The Shahi Imam threatened Hindus with a second partition and mass violence. Muslim intellectuals and un-convicted terrorist right groups demanded judicial inquiries after the Batla House encounter. In Azamgarh, the martyr Mohan Chand Sharma was denounced as a fake encounter specialist by several local Muslims. On several occasions, local Muslims have prevented arrests of terror suspects by threatening communal violence like in the case of a fanatical preacher Abdul Matin of Varanasi!

It is with a sense of relief that we find the conduct of a national party like BJP in this hour of crisis to be satisfactory which unfortunately cannot be said to be the case for the others. Remember, how Madhani, the man who spent 10 yrs in jail for his involvement in the Coimbatore blasts was wishfully wooed by both the Communists and the Congress in Kerala. Remember, how Bashir”s family, mastermind of the Ahmedabad blasts was consoled by every “secular” party operating in Uttar Pradesh! In stark opposition, the BJP and any of its allied Hindutva organizations have completely disowned the accused. It sends a strong message to every potential Hindu fed up from “green terror” and who believes in taking the law into his own hands that no sympathy can be expected for their misguided actions.

Those same “secular” windbags who rationalize anti Hindu terrorism as a consequence of the eradication of a profound symbol of 16th century Islamic imperialism in 1992, may well discover the roots of Malegaon 2008 in Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Delhi 2008, if not Mumbai 2007, Delhi 2005, Coimbatore 1998, apart from J and K 1989-2008

Within 24 hrs of her arrest, the Sadhvi has become Hindu”s terror feminine face! Everything associated with her is claimed to be untouchable including her religious identity. Dare they render the same [dis]service to the hundreds of Islamic terrorists who have been apprehended by the police!

Recall, the Jayendra Saraswati case in which the “secular” media played such an egregious role in defaming both him, and the Math that the Andhra High Court was compelled to intervene and issue a stern warning to all these agencies of secular terror, for “the amount of disrepute and sacrilege inflicted upon Sri Jayendra Saraswati, as of now, is so enormous that it has hardly any comparables” The learned judge had also regrettably noted, “sad and sorrowful that an institution of such glory that withstood foreign invasions and social revolutions”" over the past 2500 years is virtually targeted and persecuted in an organised manner in an independent country. Not only individuals, but also a section of the institutions, such as the State and the Press, appears to be determined to belittle and besmirch the Peetam. The proponents of human rights, fair play and dignity to the individuals and institutions have maintained stoic silence

Islam fundamentalism has a dark global totalitarian vision.
Muslim extremists freely quote from the Quran, and are warmly applauded by supposedly pious co-religionists. Osama Bin Laden became overnight a pan-Islamic symbol after 9/11. Thousands of Indian Muslims enthusiastically enrolled in the global jehadi fan club, was the frank admission of Burkha Dutt who is arguably one of the most secular journalists around. Yet, a Zakir Naik who applauds Osama and calls USA terrorist Number 1 finds space in India. A Geelani, who has only one desire - the total Islamicization of Kashmir is treated at government expense. The Imam of Azamgarh reassured Bashir”s family after his arrest, “God will do justice and the community will benefit from your son”s sacrifices.” In contrast, it is impossible to even remotely visualize a Hindu guru consoling Pragya Sadhvi”s family!

For the 80 million Hindus who were butchered in the cause of the supposedly lesser Jihad of medieval political expediency, not one counter-terrorist was produced. For the millions of Bengali Hindus who were massacred in the genocide against Hindus in Bangladesh, not one counter-terrorist emerged. Against the Kashmiri genocide, how many Pandits took up guns? Why did they not? Because deep inside every Hindu finds revolting the idea of killing innocents only because the faith they profess is different from their own.

Because they cannot tolerate rationalization of terror against innocents for the sake of avenging the past wrongs. Why did they not convert people from other faiths? Because they actually believe real conversion is not conversion of faith, it is conversion of character. Why did they not retaliate? Because their reformist spirit prevents justification of murder through the morbid philosophy of an “eye for an eye” Why did they not transform into book based fanatics? Because they know, that any holy book which teaches terror against innocents must be disowned!

During the Godhra riots, there were hundreds and thousands of Hindus, who deplored the alleged misdeeds of Modi. The liberal Hindu also swallowed the bait, ignoring the fact that many of the accusations by Star TV like ripping of fetuses are all Anti-Hindu practices, were based on hearsay and actually derived from the eyewitness accounts of Muslim persecution of Hindu-Sikh women in Punjab and East Bengal in the aftermath of partition.

But how many Muslims have unequivocally condemned the terror antics of Mahdani, SIMI, Dawood, Osama and Mullah Omar in the past? When was the last time you saw a letter to the editor by an Indian Muslim on these lines in your daily newspaper? When was the last time you found a Muslim defending America for attacking the bastion of Taliban, or perhaps agree in the Palestine-Israel conflict that excesses have been committed by both sides? How many Muslims publicly condemned the genocide against Hindus in Bangladesh which claimed 3 million lives and counting and perhaps another in Kashmir. How many Muslims blame the Muslims for their fossilized shariat laws and defend Salman Rushdie”s right to free speech and expression. Why is the mind of the Indian Muslim or for that majority of world Muslims a monolith when it comes to espousing retrograde Pan Islamic causes?

While even a young Hindu teenage girl who has yet to read the Ramayana can be found chastizising Rama for betraying Sita and killing Vali; how many Muslims can even question, if not condemn the Prophet assassinating Abu Afak, a 120 year old man who doubted the Quranic revelation and then triggering the same fate for Asma Bin Marwan, a pagan poetess and mother of five children while sleeping with them for having publicly derided the Prophet for his previous action

Why do the Indian media invoke the RSS and the VHP as the countercurrent of Islamic fundamentalism? What commonalities have they discovered between the constitutions of the SIMI and the RSS? Why are they implicated without evidence in every riot, while Islamic miscreants are let off for being supposedly a minority, and mind you not a small one at that! Why is terrorism justified by progressive news channels like NDTV as a naturally corollary for riots. Sometimes, Hindu fundamentalist are charged with raising provocative slogans like Bharat Mata ki jai - if one cant chant the same in India, where to go? In Pakistan or in Bangladesh? Or perhaps Saudi Arabia?

The media”s self censorship is another worry. Just like terror stories involving anti-national activities of Muslims are suppressed or pushed to page 10 backburners; VHP president Praveen Togadia”s outbursts and frustrations must make breaking news but not that of the imam of the Jama Masjid.

If Togadia decries Valentine”s day and short skirts he is a conservative Hindu fanatic who wants to Talibanise India, but when the mullahs decide to marry a Muslim girl to his father in law who for the small matter had incidentally raped her and quite gratuitously demand of her to change her relationship with her husband to that of a mother, it is to be regarded only a matter of faith which should be respected in a secular country and instead not be communalized by the Hinduvadis.

The secularist modus operandi is to keep infecting the self critical Hindu mind of their axiomatic debauchery for their co-religionists are responsible for all the riots, their co-religionalists have made India unsafe, their co-religionists have created terrorists out of peace loving Mullahs. This should supposedly appease the violent self righteousness of the Muslim mind whose benevolence in turn will keep communal riots at bay.

The ordinary Hindu has invariably internalized the pernicious “secular” conditioning that he is subjected too since the day he is born.

Terror has no religion, never mind that those who blow themselves up in the name of religion all belong to the same religion.

All religions are the same. The RSS and the VHP are the Hindu counterparts of the Taliban although they lack the moral courage of Islam to blow themselves apart in service of their religion. Hindu fundamentalists pose the greatest threat to the integrity and pluralistic culture of India, and if you consider any of their motives justified then it means you are one of them. These Hindu fundamentalists are perverts who don”t know anything about their religion; only secular Marxists have the license to teach you Hinduism - the debased religion which has persecuted women, dalits and adivasis for centuries while Islam is egalitarian never mind its history of persecuting those who disbelieve the Prophet”s revelation, Islam has not felled one temple for religious reasons they will claim, never mind that 80,000 others were smashed supposedly under duress of secular and political compulsions.

Quite unlike the Hindus who persecuted the Buddhists through a Huna king who never converted to Hinduism or a formerly Hindu king who had already converted to islam. Also never mind not a single complaint was ever registered against the great Guptas and their legendary patronization of the heretical Buddhist sects for they had already been indicted for obstructing the march of history by unleashing the woe of feudalism on the Indian proletariat.

Even the terrorist Aurangzeb stands out as a saint in the eyes of these secularists since he had been unfairly slandered by supposedly nationalist historians; never mind that all of them possessed impeccable credentials unlike much of the current crop who are indoctrinated to the deadly Stalinist ideology.

Despite that, Hinduism with its heightened ideals is the religion which is being tormented, at the expense of those which have produced the maximum number of global jihadis. “The secular hate-mongers are pushing Hindus into a difficult corner without a space to be heard. Not a single “mainline” newspaper publishes their views, though any number of assaults on them are a matter of routine. This is creating a grave situation and it”s a warning signal that can be ignored only at the peril of the nation”s great legacy of plurality” , writes Tarun Vijay.

In Hindu mythology, Shumb and Nishumb are the demonic powers, whom superficial killing does not eliminate. Every drop of their blood produces a thousand other similar demons. If the secular media considers Pragya Sadhvi to be such a condemned entity, then beware, or else you will end up producing a thousand other Pragyas.

Pope should apologise for Laxmanananda murder

by Deepak Kamat ~ October 29th, 2008

Following are some instances in which the papacy admitted errors or apologised for actions of the Roman Catholic Church.   If he can do so for trivial causes,  why can’t he do so for the heinous murder of Swami Lakshmanananda in Kandhmal

  • 1992: After 13 years of study by the Vatican, Pope John Paul II declared that the church was wrong to condemn astronomer Galileo for maintaining that the earth was not the centre of the universe. The scientist was formally rehabilitated and the pope said Galileo’s condemnation had resulted from “tragic mutual incomprehension”.
  • 1992: Visiting a former centre of the slave trade in Senegal, John Paul begged for forgiveness for the Christians involved in the slave trade. “From this African sanctuary of black pain, we begged the pardon from above,” the pope said.
  • 1995: John Paul issued a document saying that the Church was “truly sorry” for any discrimination or mistreatment of women.
  • 1995: During a visit to the Czech Republic, John Paul asked forgiveness for violence by Catholics against Protestants during the 16th century Counterreformation. “Today I, the pope of the Church of Rome, in the name of all Catholics, ask forgiveness for the wrongs inflicted on non-Catholics during the turbulent history of these peoples.”
  • 1998: In a document on the Holocaust, John Paul expressed remorse for the cowardice of some Christians during the Nazi persecution of Jews, regretting the silence of those who “were not strong enough to raise their voices in protest”.
  • 1999: John Paul denounced the persecution of Jan Hus, a 15th-century religious reformer and precursor of Protestantism who was burned at the stake.
  • 2000: On a solemn Day of Pardon during the Holy Year, John Paul asked forgiveness for the sins of Catholics through the ages, including wrongs inflicted on Jews, women and minorities. During the ceremony it was the future Benedict XVI, then Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, who spoke of the Inquisition, confessing “sins committed in the service of the truth”.
  • 2000: In a visit to Yad Vashem, the Holocaust memorial in Jerusalem, John Paul said the Catholic Church is “deeply saddened by the hatred, acts of persecution and displays of anti-Semitism directed against the Jews by Christians at any time and in any place”.
  • 2001: On a visit to Athens, John Paul issued a sweeping apology for wrongs committed by Roman Catholics against Orthodox Christians.
  • 2001: Sending his official word over the internet for the first time, John Paul apologised for missionary abuses against indigenous peoples of the South Pacific.
  • 2006: Pope Benedict XVI said on Sunday he was “deeply sorry” that Muslims worldwide took offence over a speech he gave in Germany on September 12 about Islam and holy war.
  • Anti-Hindu dogmas from Karan Thapar

    by Deepak Kamat ~ September 26th, 2008

Great men make great mistakes. Karan Thapar is not a great man. However, he has made great mistakes in his article “Who is the real Hindu” published in The Hindustan Times. Here are the Karan Thapar dogmas and my replies.

    Masculine Hinduism vs Feminish Hinduism

    by Deepak Kamat ~ September 26th, 2008

These days I meet several Hindus who say that they don’t endorse violence in the name of Hinduism. I respect their views… but I will never talk to them because I believe in masculine Hinduism.
I am a person who believes in the line “Vajradapi Katorami, Kusumadapi Komalami” — To be hard as diamond and yet be sensitive like a flower.

Soft, wishy-washy, namby-pamby Hinduism does not work all the time. At a time when Hinduism is reeling under jehadi terrorism, evangelical manipulations, global machinations and intellectual terrorism of NDTV-CNN combine, we need masculine Hinduism.

Who are the mascots of masculine Hinduism.  Undoubtedly, it is Swami Vivekananda for the modern times whom I consider as the father of modern Hindu nationalism.  Then for old-timers, we have Rana Pratap, Shivaji, Ranjeet Singh who made Muslims bend on their knees during a time when Islamic terrorism ruled the roost.  And then there is my favourite Chandrashekar Azad who sent a chill down the British spine even when the odds were against him.

As a masculine Hindu, I still believe in the age-old wisdom of Upanishad — Ahimsa Paramodharmaha (Non-violence is the greatest virtue).  However, non-violence does not mean being a sitting duck to Islamic-Christian-Left-intellectual terrorists.  Self-preservation (Atma Rakshan) is also our greatest dharma.

There is absolutely nothing wrong in striking at the base of terror.  There is nothing wrong in defending yourself.  There is nothing wrong in a good fight.

That is why I support Narendra Modi and his ilk.  May their tribe increase.  And I wish that those who fight for terrorist rights also spare a thought for Hindu victims who are not in the media glare.

I may sound old-fashioned.  But if truth is old-fashioned, it is not my fault.

    Replies to abuses in Satyadarshini

    by Deepak Kamat ~ September 22nd, 2008

Several of the respondents in this website asked me to give a befitting reply to the abuse of Hindu Gods in the book “Satyadarshini”. So, I am  giving a Hindu response to the Christian abuse.

Abuse No. 1: Urvashi – the daughter of Narayana– is a prostitute.  Vashitha is the son of this prostitute.  He in turn married his own Mother.  Such a degraded person is the Guru of the Hindu God Rama. (page 48)

Urvashi is not a prostitute.  She is a celestial nymph.  Secondly Vasistha was one of the Saptarishis (Seven Great Sages Rishi) in the seventh, i.e the present Manvantara,[1] and the Rajpurohit / Rajguru of the Suryavamsha or Solar Dynasty. He was the manasaputra of Brahma. He had in his possession the divine cow Kamadhenu, and Nandini her child, who could grant anything to their owners.

Vashisht is credited as the chief author of Mandala 7 of the Rigveda. Vashisht and his family are glorified in RV 7.33, extolling their role in the Battle of the Ten Kings, making him the only mortal besides Bhavayavya to have a Rigvedic hymn dedicated to him. Another immortal treatise dedicated by him to the humanity is “Vashisht Samhita” - a book on Vedic system of electional astrology (Muhurtha/ Muhurt)- based on which theory & principles of electional astrology have emanated & followed through millenniums & which have withstood test of the time.

Abuse no. 2: When Krishna himself is wallowing in darkness of hell, how can he enlighten others?  Since  Krishna himself is a shady character, there is a need for us to  liberate his misled followers. (page 50)

Lord Krishna is considerd as an Avatar in Hindu pantheon.  He  is supposed to have lived around 5,200 years ago.  Accordingly, he is supposed to reincarnate whenever adharma increases.  There is no reference anywhere  which says that he is in  hell.  I wonder, what divine wisdom the missionaries have when they can see somebody wallowing in hell.

Abuse no. 3: t was Brahma himself who kidnapped Sita.  Since Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva were themselves the victims of lust, it is a sin to consider them as Gods. (page 39)

First of all, Ramayana can be interpreted anyway you want.  In fact, the world is a divine illusion.  Secondly, creation needs lust.  Even the divine missionaries are a product  of lust. Everyone has doubts about immaculate conception.  I wonder how Jesus was born without pregnancy.  It is all fancy stuff.  Is it not?

Abuse No. 4: When the Trinity of Hinduism (Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva) are consumed by lust and anger, how can they liberate others.  Their projection as Gods is nothing but a joke. (page 39).

Hinduism is not a single prophet/single book cult like Islam and Christianity.  There are 84 schools of thoughts in Hinduism – of  which even atheism is a part.  Then there are other concepts like duality, non-duality and achintabheda tattwa (where the soul is neither dual nor non-dual).  In Hinduism, worship and liberation is a personal affair.  Nobody has the right to interefere in other’s mode of worship.  There is something called as Vyakti Dharma.  It is highly personal.  No conversions and interference please.

Abuse No.5:  Vishnu asked Brahma to commit a sin, he immediately did so.  How can such a “evil brahma” be a Creator of this Universe?  How is it possible for both the sinner and the entity which provoked the sin to be gods?  (page 39)

First of all, there is no sin and no sinner.  Sin is a Christian concept.  Majority of Hindus consider the universe as leela (divine play). Though there are other variations too, most  of the Hindus have pantheistic overtones.  They don’t differentiate between the creator and the creation.  Most of the Hindus are believers in oneness and pantheism.  Note, it is not monotheism of the zealous semitic Gods.

Abuse No. 6: God, please liberate the sinful people of India who are worshipping False Gods  that believe in the pleasures of  illicit ‘Vyabichari’ relationships. (Page 39).

Swami Vivekananda described the people of India as children of immortality.  (Amritasya Putraha).  These are the lines from the Upanishads.  The soul is  not a sinner.  It is a spark of the universal divinity.  So there is no question of liberating sinners because sin does not exist in the first place.  As for the so called “Vyabichar”, it is simple logic to say that the world would stop without sex.  Sex is nothing but nature’s mechanism to ensure that individuals reproduce.  In fact, we have a deity for sex (Kamadeva or Cupid) in Hinduism.  Per se, sex  is natural.  However, Victorian sensibilities ensure that a lot of guilt is  associated with it.

    THE FINAL RECONCILIATION

    by Deepak Kamat ~ September 19th, 2008

THE OUTCOME OF HINDU-CHRISTIAN NEGOTIATION IN MANGALORE

Christian leaders and Hindu leaders held a meeting to thrash out the differences at The Circuit House in Mangalore.

The Hindu delegation consisted of Prof M B Puranik, Vibhag Sanghachallak and VHP district President, Dr. Prabhakar Bhat, Prant Karyavaya, Dr. Madhav Bhandary, Vibhaga Karyakarini Sadasya, Monappa Bhandary, district BJP President, Shrikar Prabhu, Jagadish Shenava, Rajagopala Rai.  The Christian delegation was led by Fr. J B Crasta, Louis Pinto,Felix Alberque, M P Noronha, William D’Souza, Stany Alvares.

The negotiation was held under the supervision of district in-charge Minister Shri Krishna Palemar.  The persons who mediated towards bringing both sides together were Dharmaraj, Mangalore-based-builder and  S Ramesh, Social worker.

The Hindu delegation put forth its view stating that

    1. Hindu society was never aggressive and in fact encouraged and promoted plurality in society.
    2. Christianity grew because of Hindu patronage
    3. Christians were denigrating Hindu faith through distribution of pamphlets denigrating Hindu God. (Satya Darshini pamphlet distributed by New Life says that Hindu gods were promiscuous and wallowing in darkness  of hell).
    4. Christians were objecting to Hindu articles of faith like Rakhi, bindi, flowers et al
    5. Christians used the children of Hindu parents when the institutions were protesting against Kandmal violence
    6. The Christians in Mangalore had even protested when Jayalalitha Government had banned conversion in Tamil Nadu
    7. They had even pelted stones and had injured policemen who were trying to protect law and order.
    8. Though the Christian delegation was distancing itself from New Life, they were in fact supporting it by protesting in a big way as if to condone the New Life activities.
    9. The Schools run by Christians were psychologically dominating Hindu school children as if to give a bad impression about the Hindu faith.
    10. Harmony can be established only when the Christians observe their religion in private without encroaching on the domain of Hindu faith.
    11. Conversions were affecting the family life as several families had broken up due to conversion activities.
    12. Conversions due to inducement and allurements are not in the interest of the society.  There is nothing wrong in voluntary conversions.
    13. The Resurgent Hindu society would not tolerate such proselytisation activities which aim at division rather than integration.
    14. The Service activities of the Church were more  directed towards the ulterior motives of proselytisation.
    15. The Hindus won’t harm the Christian faith in any way if they do it without forcing it on others.  And there would not be any cause for conflict.
    16. There is no question of social boycott against Christians.  In fact, the Hindus are for cordial relations with Christians.
    17. In case of any further problems, the problems would be solved through bilateral talks involving leaders of both sides.
    18. The Hindu leaders made it clear that they did not support the attack on the building that housed the Cloistered Nuns.  They said that it was inadvertent and it would not be repeated.

The Church leaders put forth its view in the following manner

    1. Christians are feeling insecure due to the recent spate of violence in New Life prayer halls
    2. Is it wrong on our part to serve the society?
    3. We don’t have anything to do with New Life activities except that both of us respect Jesus and Bible.
    4. Hindu leaders may stop the Hindus from attending New Life congregational meetings.
    5. Educate the Hindus in such a manner that they refrain from New Life activities.
    6. In the case of Kandmal incidents, the Hindus had provoked the Christians through banners depicting the Christians in poor light
    7. Any case of provocation from any side  is improper.
    8. It should not happen.  Steps should be taken to improve relations.
    9. Christians will not resort to conversions in South Kanara and Udupi district.
    10. The Christian institutions will not prevent the school children from wearing Rakhi, Bindi, flowers et al that depict the Hindu faith.
    11. The Christian educational institutions will not take the Hindu children to Church
    12. Since the Catholic Christians do not have any connection with New Life missionaries, it would not object to any action against New Life in connection with proselytisation activities.
    13. Since Bible and Cross are very holy in Christianity, the Hindus should not damage it any way.
    14. The Christians would rein in their youths from violent activities henceforth.
    15. The Christians are distressed with the attack on the cloistered Nuns inside the premises.

Proof of Christian complicity in abusing Hindu Gods in Mangalore

    by Deepak Kamat ~ September 18th, 2008
    Dear all,
These are the scanned copy of Satyadarshini — the book denigrating Hindu gods distributed by the missionaries of New Life.
We have the entire copy.  Just a few pages containing the choicest abuses of Hindu Gods have been scanned and given to all, as I received a lot of requests for the original documents.

DENIGRATION OF HINDU GODS IS THE REAL REASON FOR ATTACK ON CHRISTIANS IN MANGALORE

    by Deepak Kamat ~ September 17th, 2008

The Following are the list of abuses from one such book – Satya Darshini – distributed by the missionaries of New Life.  This book is in Kannada  and the translation of the abusive passage is as follows.

    · Urvashi – the daughter of Narayana– is a prostitute.  Vashitha is the son of this prostitute.  He in turn married his own Mother.  Such a degraded person is the Guru of the Hindu God Rama. (page 48)

    · When Krishna himself is wallowing in darkness of hell, how can he enlighten others?  Since  Krishna himself is a shady character, there is a need for us to  liberate his misled followers. (page 50)

    · It was Brahma himself who kidnapped Sita.  Since Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva were themselves the victims of lust, it is a sin to consider them as Gods. (page 39)

    · When the Trinity of Hinduism (Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva) are consumed by lust and anger, how can they liberate others.  Their projection as Gods is nothing but a joke. (page 39).

    · When Vishnu asked Brahma to commit a sin, he immediately did so.  How can such a “evil brahma” be a Creator of this Universe?  How is it possible for both the sinner and the entity which provoked the sin to be gods?  (page 39)

    · God, please liberate the sinful people of India who are worshipping False Gods  that believe in the pleasures of  illicit ‘Vyabichari’ relationships. (Page 39).

    2. All the 16 incidents that took place were not attack on Churches.  In fact, unauthorized prayer halls were attacked where the blasphemous pamphlets were distributed and aggressive proselytisation was taking place.  These 16 incidents were not localized but took place across three districts of Mangalore, Udupi  and Chikmagalur.

    3.       The only place where attacks took place apart from New Life Prayer Halls was at a small prayer hall in the premises of Milagres Church in Mangalore, where some miscreants had damaged a Jesus idol.   The VHP and the Bajrang Dal have condemned the attack at this place.  Following this incident, a Christian mob gathered and the situation went out of control as the mob started pelting stones and disrupting traffic.  The police was forced to intervene and this resulted in unsavoury violence.

    4.       Since the past two days, it is not Hindu-Christian clashes that are taking place.  In fact, it is more appropriate to call it”Christian-Police” clashes since the Christians holed up in Churches have engaged themselves in pelting of stones and disruption of traffic.  The Police were forced to enter the Church  to clear the mob and they found arms inside the Church.

    5.       Incidents of Stabbing were reported in around four or five places across Mangalore district.  In fact, an activist belonging to Shri Ram Sena was stabbed which led to a bandh call by Shri Ram Sena – a Hindu outfit that is not connected to Sangh Parivar.

    6.       The VHP and the Bajrang Dal have condemned the desecration of Jesus idol at the prayer hall adjacent to the Milagres Church in Mangalore.  They have also clarified that they are not against the Catholic faith and the Churches.  However, they have clarified that the public outcry would continue as long as illicit conversion activities and blasphemy of Hindu gods take place.

    7.       Even the Kandhmahal  murder — which involved the killing of Hindu monk  Swami  Lakshmananda by missionaries – seems to have caste a shadow on this incident since the general public seems to have seen through Christian aggression.

    8.       It may be recalled that there was a public outcry against illegal prayer halls in Davanagere district last week.  In that case, the administration had closed the unauthorized prayer halls that were mushrooming in the region.

New Status of women in Hinduism

    by Deepak Kamat ~ May 23rd, 2008

Here is a list of the myths propagated by anti-Hindus to malign Hinduism on women’s issues..
    1. The Hindu Woman has no right to divorce her husband.
Absoulte crap ! Divorce in Hindus is governed by a modern laws under the ‘Hindu Marriage act 1955. Please see this link and I challenge you that Hindu women have a modern democratic law protecting them and they enjoy facilities that no muslim woman can even dream of ! See divorce section no.13 – there are over 50 options for the woman ! I challenge you to show me any islamic law giving so many priviledges to women !http://www.sudhirlaw.com/HMA55.htm
    2. She has no property or inheritance rights.
Nonsense ! THE HINDU SUCCESSION ACT OF 1956:This Act recognized an equal right for women in the matter of inheritance of property. She can inherit the property of father along with her brothers. She can also sell or mortgage the inherited property or use it for herself. For the first time absolute ownership was conferred to a woman by this Act.In muslims the sisters get half of the brothers !
    3. Choice of partner is limited because she can only marry within her own caste; moreover her horoscope must match that of the intending bridegroom/family.
Sorry, wrong again ! Castes are not seen during marriage. Horoscopes are only matched if it is an arranged marriage.
    4. The family of the girl has to offer an enormous dowry to the bridegroom/family.
Nonsense again !Dowry is given as a gift, and not demanded !It is illegal to demand dowry ! The girl can report to the police if her husband or inlaws demand dowry !See the law:THE DOWRY PROHIBITION ACT OF 1961(there are new latest ammendments to the act- I will post them at your request)
    5. If her husband dies she should commit Sati (being cremated with her dead husband). Since today’s law forbids Sati, society mainly punishes her in other “holy”
Please provide statistics of Sati for the past 50 years ! Are you living in a dream world ? Read the sati prevention act 1829 and 19875. She cannot remarry.Crap again:In the case of widows.See this :THE HINDU WIDOW RE-MARRIAGE ACT OF 1856:This Act allowed widows to remarry and section 5 of this Act ensured her to enjoy all the rights which a married woman did.In the case of divorced women :http://www.sudhirlaw.com/HMA55.htmDivorced persons. When may marry again.- When a marriage has been dissolved by a decree of divorce and either there is no right of appeal against the decree or, if there is such a right of appeal, the time for appealing has expired without an appeal having been presented, or an appeal has been presented but has been dismissed, it shall be lawful for either party to the marriage to marry again.
    6. The widow is considered to be a curse and must not be seen in public. She cannot wear jewelry or colourful clothes. (She should not even take part in her children’s marriage!)
Please wake up and come to reality !THE HINDU WIDOW RE-MARRIAGE ACT OF 1856:This Act allowed widows to remarry and section 5 of this Act ensured her to enjoy all the rights which a married woman did.
    7. Child and infant marriage is encouraged.
See this:Conditions of a Hindu marriage :(iii) the bridegroom has completed the age of twenty one years and the bride the age of eighteen years at the time of the marriage;http://www.sudhirlaw.com/HMA55.htm
    8. Bride burning for dowry:
There are stringent laws against this. Besides mainstream Hindus shun and boycott such shameful incidents which are grossly exaggerated by the post-modern media.

Global famine? Blame the US Federal Reserve

    by Deepak Kamat ~ May 9th, 2008

This article gives real reasons for the global food riots. It also blasts the “Bush myth” that global food shortage is due to overeating by the great Indian middle class.

By Mike Whitney. JournalApril 29, 2008
The stakes couldn’t be higher for Ben Bernanke. If the Fed chief decides to lower rates at the end of April, he could be condemning millions of people to a death by starvation.
The situation is that serious. Food riots have broken out across the globe destabilizing large parts of the developing world. China is experiencing double-digit inflation. Indonesia, Vietnam and India have imposed controls over rice exports. Wheat, corn and soya are at record highs and threatening to go higher still. Commodities are up across the board. The World Food Program is warning of widespread famine if the West doesn’t provide emergency humanitarian relief.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said it best: “It is a massacre of the world’s poor. The problem is not the production of food. It is the economic, social and political model of the world. The capitalist model is in crisis.”
Right on, Hugo. There is no shortage of food; it’s just the prices that are making food unaffordable. Bernanke’s “weak dollar” policy has ignited a wave of speculation in commodities which is pushing prices into the stratosphere. The UN is calling the global food crisis a “silent tsunami,” but its more like a flood; the world is awash in increasingly worthless dollars that are making food and raw materials more expensive. Foreign central banks and investors presently hold $6 trillion in dollars and dollar-backed assets, so when the dollar starts to slide, the pain radiates through entire economies. This is especially true in countries where the currency is pegged to the dollar. That’s why most of the Gulf States are experiencing runaway inflation. This doesn’t mean that oil depletion, biofuel production, over-population, and giant agribusinesses don’t add to the problem. They do. But the catalyst is the Fed’s monetary policies; that’s the domino that puts the others in motion.
Here’s Otto Spengler’s summary in his recent article in Asia Times, Rice, Death and the Dollar: “The global food crisis is a monetary phenomenon, an unintended consequence of America’s attempt to inflate its way out of a market failure. There are long-term reasons for food prices to rise, but the unprecedented spike in grain prices during the past year stems from the weakness of the American dollar. Washington’s economic misery now threatens to become a geopolitical catastrophe. . . . The link between the declining parity of the US unit and the rising price of commodities, including oil as well as rice and other wares, is indisputable.
“Never before in history has hunger become a global threat in a period of plentiful harvests. Global rice production will hit a record of 423 million tons in the 2007-2008 crop year, enough to satisfy global demand. The trouble is that only 7% of the world’s rice supply is exported, because local demand is met by local production. Any significant increase in rice stockpiles cuts deeply into available supply for export, leading to a spike in prices. Because such a small proportion of the global rice supply trades, the monetary shock from the weak dollar was sufficient to more than double its price.” ["Rice, death and the dollar", By Otto Spengler, Asia Times]
The US is exporting its inflation by cheapening its currency. Now a field worker in Haiti who earns $2 a day, and spends all of that to feed his family, has to earn twice that amount or eat half as much. No wonder that six people were killed in Port au Prince in the recent food riots. People go crazy when they can’t feed their kids.
Food and energy prices are sucking the life out of the global economy. Foreign banks and pension funds are trying to protect their investments by diverting dollars into things that will retain their value. That’s why oil is nudging $120 per barrel when it should be in the $70 to $80 range.
According to Tim Evans, energy analyst at Citigroup in New York, “There’s no supply-demand deficit.” None. In fact suppliers are expecting an oil surplus by the end of this year.
“The case for lower oil prices is straightforward: The prospect of a deep U.S. recession or even a marked period of slower economic growth in the world’s top energy consumer making a dent in energy consumption. Year to date, oil demand in the U.S. is down 1.9% compared with the same period in 2007, and high prices and a weak economy should knock down U.S. oil consumption by 90,000 barrels a day this year, according to the federal Energy Information Administration.” ["Bears Baffled by Oil Highs," Gregory Meyer, Wall Street Journal]
There’s no oil shortage; that’s another ruse. Speculators are simply driving up the price of oil to hedge their bets on the falling dollar. What else can they do, put them in the frozen bond market, or the sinking stock market, or the collapsing housing market? The Fed has gummed up the entire financial system with its low-interest credit scam, now it’s on to commodities where the real pain is just beginning to be felt.
This is what happens when there’s too many dollars sloshing around the system; they all need a place to rest, and when they do, they create equity bubbles. Sound familiar? Indeed. This is Greenspan’s legacy in a nutshell; the dark specter of Maestro will continue to haunt the world until all the hyper-inflated asset-classes (real estate, bonds, stocks, commodities) return to earth and all the red ink is mopped up. That’ll take time, but Bernanke could make things a lot easier if he accepted some responsibility for the current turmoil and raised rates by 25 basis points. That would show speculators that the Fed was serious about defending the currency, which would send the commodities bubble crashing to earth. Prices would go down overnight.
But Bernanke won’t raise rates because he doesn’t really give a hoot about the people in Cameroon who have to scavenge through garbage dumps for a few morsels to keep their families alive. Nor does he care about the average American working-stiff who goes into cardiac arrest every time he pulls up to the gas pump. What matters to Bernanke is making sure that his fat cat buddies in the banking establishment get a steady stream of low interest loot, so they can paper over their bad investments and ward off bankruptcy for another day or two. It’s a joke; it was the investment banks that created this mess with their putrid mortgage-backed securities and other debt exotica. Still, in Bernanke’s mind, they are the only ones who really count.
And don’t expect Bush to step in and save the day either. The “Decider” still believes in the unrestricted activity of the free market, especially when his crooked friends can make a buck on the deal.
From the Washington Times: “Farmers and food executives appealed fruitlessly to federal officials yesterday for regulatory steps to limit speculative buying that is helping to drive food prices higher. Meanwhile, some Americans are stocking up on staples such as rice, flour and oil in anticipation of high prices and shortages spreading from overseas. Costco and other grocery stores in California reported a run on rice, which has forced them to set limits on how many sacks of rice each customer can buy. Filipinos in Canada are scooping up all the rice they can find and shipping it to relatives in the Philippines, which is suffering a severe shortage that is leaving many people hungry.” [Patrice Hill, Washington Times]
The Bush administration knows there’s hanky-panky going on, but they just look the other way. It’s Enron all over again — where Ken Lay & Co. scalped the public with utter impunity while regulators sat on the sidelines applauding. Great. Now it’s the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) turn; they’re taking a hands-off approach so Wall Street sharpies make a fortune jacking up the price of everything from soda crackers to toilet bowls.
“A hearing Tuesday in Washington before the Commodity Futures Trading Commission starts a new round of scrutiny into the popularity of agricultural futures, once a quieter arena that for years was dominated largely by big producers and consumers of crops and their banks trying to manage price risks. The commission’s official stance and that of many of the exchanges, however, is likely to disappoint many consumer groups. The CFTC’s economist plans to state at the hearing that the agency doesn’t believe financial investors are driving up grain prices. Some grain buyers say speculators’ big bets on relatively small grain exchanges, especially recently, are pushing up prices for ordinary consumers. ["Call Goes Out to Rein In Grain Speculators", Ann Davis]
“The agency doesn’t believe financial investors are driving up grain prices”?
Prices have doubled, people are starving, and the Bush troop is still parroting the same worn party-mantra. It’s maddening.
The US has been gaming the system for decades; sucking up two-thirds of the world’s capital to expand its cache of Cadillac Escalades and flat-screen TVs; giving nothing back in return except mortgage-backed junk, cluster bombs, and crummy green paper. Nothing changes; it only gets worse. But this time its different. The world is now facing the very real prospect of famine on a massive scale because 12 doddering old banksters at the Federal Reserve would rather bail out their sketchy friends than save the lives of starving women and children. Bernanke, with one swipe of the pen, now has an opportunity to send more people to their eternal reward than Bush. If he cut rates, the dollar will fall, commodities will spike, and people will starve. It’s as simple as that.
